Assault new logo & recording status

Its been quite awhile since the last log-in, recently 2 weeks back Assault perform at crawlspace once again for the "A Go Go Flea" Gig along with "Bhelliom, Thambi K Sheow and some other bands", crowds was good expect abit dead, as its our last gig with sessionist drummer "Faizal" from Cruxifixion, the militants thank him for his effort for covering drums for the last two gig!

Assault will not be having gig until late november due to recording, recording will begin this saturday with drums & rhythm guitar parts at Sound Advices Studio.

Busy life : Assault, Official ChthoniC Forum, Metal Hordes

Hi guys, well been almost 1 month since i update my blog, hardly had the time to update, busy with division life & Assault & with my main forum i am running alongside with my admin from UK & US .

Update on Assault:

Just had a show last saturday at Crawlspace Studio, gig entitled "Mashed" organised by Unclebob Production, its been almost 2 years since we hardly had any show, and this is our first offical metal gig by the way :) , most of the song we played that day are covered ranging from (Bloodbath,At the Gates to Arch Enemy) we also played two original from our upcoming ep "War on Humanity & Rebellions Retribution", crowds respond was good, headbanging & moshing etc, Assault will be having another gig on September 12, this will be our last gig with Faizal on Drum, as our original drummer "Then" will be back with us in late sepetember for the recording, we will be working on our fourth song on the EP entitled "Deeds of the Cold War" after this gig. Detail will be out soon!

Update of ChthoniC English Forum:

Been on this official forum for almost 3 years now, being made the admin early last year. Recently been promoting alot on ChthoniC & this forum , through means of giving away free DVD i receive from the band label in Taiwan Uloud, Thanks to Doris & ChthoniC!, its very honour to have friends from the Taiwan Metal Scene, be it (ChthoniC,Anthelion,Revilement,Beyond Cure, Desecration) seriouslly its an honour to befriend with them & i will cherish all this Friendship till eternally!

Assault Gig Postpone & Free Tibet Concert in Taipei 2009

Assault gig have been postpone yet again due to some health problem our drummer "Then" is facing for this 2 weeks. He will be back in August, Currently recording date of our EP has not been set most likely "25 September". Will meeting up with Cedric of Meza Virs to talk about the detail soon next week. Tracklist of "The Expections of The Rebellions" will be reveal in august as well!.

Free Tibet Concert in Taipei was a huge success with a crowd of over 5000, held in downtown Taipei by Guts United. Featuring bands like "ChthoniC,Shoo etc" . This concert had been bless by Dalai Lama last year, this concert had the message of freeing Tibet with the voices of Taiwanese People support this idealogy!

6 years of terror & still going!!!!!!!!

Hi guys been awhile since i posted anything here,expect for that new ChthoniC album release news, 6 years of listening to Metal be it (Thrash,Black,Death) name it. Its been a long long way since early 2004 when i heard my so-called first Nu Metal band "Linkin Park" Meteora Album. Still remember back in late 2004 my secondary school form teacher burn me a copy of Metallica "Master of Puppet" that create the path of Extreme Metal for me. In early 2005 i was being introduce to UK very own "Cradle of Filth" bought their nymphethemine album really enjoy the symphonic metal they played, i am more eager to know about this genre which other band is also playing. So my school teacher intro me to lots of Norwegian Black Metal Bands like "Emperor,Enslaved,Immortal,Satyricon,Mayhem" Bought Emperor " Anthems to the welkin at dusk" in late 2005 . That open a whole new start on my way to Extreme Metal from than on, i had been searching for band online every there and than even now i am still interested in bands which produce good music. When its comes to music nobody had ever influcences me so far. Metal is something which i truly enjoy for years and i will still be listening in years to come!

Taiwanese Extreme Metallers confirm new studio album for August 10th release via Spinefarm Records UK.

Taiwan is a country where history and folklore work very much hand in hand, and both of these elements are central to the latest studio album from that country’s premier metal outfit, Chthonic (pronounced ‘Thonic’). Mirror of Retribution will be released August 10 on Spinefarm Records UK.

Formed in 1995, five-piece set-up Chthonic (a name deriving from a Greek word signifying spirits of the underworld) have delivered an 11-track body of work that touches on both the spirit and mortal worlds, with loss of national identity and the sometimes turbulent history of their homeland recurring themes.

With Anthrax guitarist Rob Caggiano at the production & mixing helm, ‘Mirror Of Retribution’ sees the award-winning musicians further developing a style that started with the ’99 album ‘Where The Ancestors’ Souls Gathered’, blending full-on metal of the darker persuasion with traditional Taiwanese instruments such as two-string violin, the hena.

“The story behind this album combines true historical fact with an ancient myth of hell,” explains bassist and band spokesperson Doris Yeh. “Amongst other things, we make reference to the infamous ‘228 Massacre’, which was the biggest ever massacre in Taiwanese history. Tens of thousands of Taiwanese were killed by the Chinese army. The final battle of the event occurred in the middle of Taiwan, where 40 local militia attempted to resist 2,500 soldiers from the Chinese army. In the end, the militia lost their lives near the Sing-Ling Temple.

“Musically, we tried to move the band to a whole new level,” continues Doris. “In the past, we’ve been described in various ways, as ‘symphonic black metal’ or ‘melodic death’, the word ‘folk’ has also been applied at times, but this was our chance to establish a new place for ourselves in the extreme metal genre…”

Never ones to shy away from a just cause, Chthonic – in particular frontman Freddy Lim – have been consistently active on the political front at home, whilst away from their hometown of Taipei they have appeared at the Wacken Festival in Germany and toured as part of the Ozzfest in the US, the first Asian extreme metal band to make such a mark.

tired,tired,tired

Hi guys, as what u saw about my post title "Tired", recently been quite tired physically,maybe because of my new division work which require me to stay awake for 12 hours, now being posted to Ang Mo Kio HQ . Still missed the day in HTA with my squadmate, be it being takan together,having fun together,disturbing each other. There will only be a chance once in a lifetime. Take it or Leave it
